From the beginning, the Church has been a people called to live lives shaped by God’s grace, truth, and holiness. At Pentecost, the Holy Spirit was poured out on believers, empowering them to follow Jesus in love and purity of heart. The early Church was marked by deep devotion, transformed lives, and a call to personal holiness. Though the Church has faced seasons of growth, struggle, and even failure, God has faithfully preserved a people who live in wholehearted obedience to Him.
One of those renewal movements came through the Wesleyan tradition. In the 18th century, John Wesley preached a message deeply rooted in the early Church’s call to holy living. He taught that salvation was not just forgiveness, but the power of God to cleanse the heart and restore us to love—what Scripture calls "perfect love" (1 John 4:18). The Wesleyan Nazarene Church flows from this heritage of Spirit-filled renewal, shaped by prayer, Scripture, and a desire to walk closely with God.
The Wesleyan Nazarene church was formed with that same longing—to be a people fully devoted to Christ, led by the Holy Spirit, grounded in Scripture, and committed to holy love. We are part of a story that began long ago and continues today: the story of God calling His people to live lives that reflect His grace, truth, and holiness.
